Getting Started

When it comes to a fitness program, getting started is often the hardest part. Sometimes, it's a matter of setting aside just 10 minutes a day to exercise. In fitness training, even small changes can make a big difference.

To get started working together we would meet to:
  • Discuss your personal fitness goals
  • Go over your health history and any limitations
  • Talk about how, when and where we would be training
  • See if we think we'd make a good team!

Then, I would design a fitness program tailored specifically for you. (Unlike the "one-program-fits-all" approach that many fitness clubs have, I design each program with all of my client's goals, conditions, and lifestyles in mind.)

I'll provide you with a written fitness program, and we'll carefully go over how to do each exercise. We will do strength training with a minimal amount of equipment - I will recommend resistance tubing, stability balls and small weights as appropriate. Often, I incorporate yoga poses or movements into routines, which help immensely with flexibility and balance.

I train with some clients once a week, and others twice or three times a week and can work with you in the privacy of your own home. It is always a good idea to get clearance from your doctor to exercise, especially if you have specific health issues or limitations.
